So as my earlier post stated we as a gaming group have begun to try other games other than just GW. This has lead me to collect the troll bloods from Privateers Hordes range. I have had these figures for awhile and this week started to paint them. I plan on having a 35pt (standard game size I believe) force ready for next weekend club day. In hordes you need one warcaster to lead your force they then control your beast large or small and the force can be backed up by units or loos (hero level characters) the choice as ever is yours. Not to give anything away but here's what I will be using

Warcaster - your have to wait and see
Warbeasts
Earth born troll (heavy) - not painted
Axer (light) - painted see below
Bouncer (light) - painted see below
Impaler (light)- painted see below
Units
Scouts 6 painted see below I love this unit is so full of character
Solo
Skinner

All this comes in at 34 point I believe and that leaves me a few points extra that I am not sure what to take. Have a look at the pictures below and let me know what you think. Sorry for the quality but as I am away I don't have my equipment.

Warmachine - Cygnar.

Hordes - Trollbloods.

Bolt Action - USMC.

Wyrd Minatures - Guild (Lady Justice).

I hope you will come along for the ride see you at a gaming table soon.

Arjac Rockfist finished

So as promised here is the finished Arjac Rockfist he seems like he's been on my painting table for an age, but I guess that what happens when you go away. What do you think?  Sorry for the cameraship all my photo stuff is back home so we will just have to make do.

Next on the agenda is Njal stormcaller in Terminator armour.  Everyone is raving about 2+ saves and the psykers so I am going big and going to be bringing the storm to a gaming table soon

I have returned

So I am back from my travels and am ready to get the paints, brushes and more importantly play a few games of 40K as I have not played the new system yet.  Interesting times indeed, most of my gaming friends are moving away from 40K for other systems but I will have to give it a go and hey what is one one system to play, it just means more models to paint.

I will hopefully get on the blogging of Bran's pack in the coming days, watch this space.

Back for a short time

So I am back at home for a week before heading back out again so I decided to get the paints out and paint Arjac Rockfist, the anvil of Fenris.  I brought this model as 1. A treat for finishing the Terminators and 2. To make the unit usable in a 5 man format as I have 2 heavy weapons included in the squad.

Now the model itself is filled with great detail and I can see why for that reason GW brought out finecast.  However I have had to go back to the store where I brought it and get 2 new arms as the hammer arm had several large bubble holes in key places destroying the detail and the shield arm hand had the same problem as well as the shield it's self having wholes in it to.  The store changed it not a problem but out of the 5 it had on display only 1 or 2 of these where ok.  Surely this can't be good for a buisness.  I have brought 3 fincast models now and only one of these have had no issues.  Luckily I can do basic green stuff so same bubbles errors I can fix but then I think why should I when have paid £15 - £18 for a model.

Still enough of my moaning I am sure GW will sort it out sooner of later.  With out further waiting here is my WiP Arjac.  The picture was taken using my iPhone so apologies in advance.
